Ottocast U2Air Edge
Wireless CarPlay AdapterOttocast's newest wired-to-wireless adapter: a 1.2GHz processor, Bluetooth 5.4 and the lightest body in the lineup...
Ottocast makes three different kinds of devices — wireless adapters, Android AI boxes and HDMI streaming hubs. Picking the right category first saves you from paying for features you'll never use.
Every device in this guide needs a car with factory wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto on a USB data port (typically 2016 or newer). 30-second test: plug your phone in — if CarPlay or Android Auto appears, you're compatible. Known exceptions: Sony aftermarket head units don't work; factory wireless-only CarPlay cars (some BMWs) need the OttoAibox i3; Mitsubishi owners should contact support before ordering.
Just hate the cable? Get an adapter — Mini Cube 3.0 (≈$42) or U2Air Edge (≈$53). Want Netflix, YouTube and apps on the factory screen? That's an AI Box (P3 / P3 Pro) or the Play2Video X (≈$104, streaming built in). Want to plug in a game console or TV stick? Car TV Mate Pro (≈$61) has HDMI input up to 2K.
iPhone-only and want the simplest option? U2AIR Pro works — but U2Air Edge does the same job with a faster 1.2 GHz chip, Bluetooth 5.4 and two-phone memory with one-press switching, worth it for shared cars. Android Auto drivers should skip U2AIR Pro (CarPlay only) and Car TV Mate Pro; Mini Cube 3.0, U2Air Edge and the AI Boxes handle both systems.
Adapters use your phone's connection — zero extras. AI Boxes and Play2Video X need internet for streaming: phone hotspot, vehicle Wi-Fi, a SIM, or Ottocast's CloudSIM on P3/P3 Pro. On P3 Pro the AI voice assistant is free for 3 months / 1,000 conversation rounds, then from $7.90 per 1,000 queries. All devices get FOTA firmware updates via the OttoPilot app.

Your car needs factory wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto on a USB data port (not a charge-only port) — typically 2016 or newer. Quick test: plug your phone in with a cable; if CarPlay or Android Auto pops up on the car screen, you're good.
No. These devices bridge wired systems. For factory wireless-only CarPlay vehicles (found on some BMW models), Ottocast recommends the OttoAibox i3 instead.
Full-screen display depends on your car's factory wired CarPlay system. If the factory CarPlay isn't full-screen, these devices won't make it full-screen.
Most Ottocast devices reconnect to the last-used phone. To switch, disconnect CarPlay on the current phone (or turn off its Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) and connect the other. U2Air Edge adds a dedicated one-press switching button and remembers two phones.
Yes. The P3 Pro can be controlled with Ottocast's mouse remote or the AIcontrol phone app if your factory screen doesn't support touch.
You need internet, but not necessarily a SIM. Depending on the model you can go online via CloudSIM (P3/P3 Pro), your phone's hotspot, vehicle Wi-Fi or a portable Wi-Fi device.
